THE HISTORY
When racing is your life, your life shapes its path with a
vengeance. Sometimes fast and furious, and at other times
smooth and controlled. Forty years ago when Richard
Childress spent his days hand-crafting his own racecar
chassis and custom-building his high performance motors,
he was consumed with one thing-racing. In fact, he’d spend
all week working on his car, run it on the bullring racetracks
of the Carolinas on the weekend, then drive all night to
get back to work on Monday morning. He’s definitely no
Johnny-come-lately. He is an icon of the sport. Having won
175 races and 10 major NASCAR championships as a team
owner in his 40 years of racing, the name Richard Childress
has become synonymous with racing. He forged a legacy
the only way they are built in this sport of champions, one
race at a time, year after year.

THE PROJECT
Talk about a machine that will turn heads. Never before has
Richard embraced a project like this. From his personal
design involvement to his team of RCR engine builders,
chassis specialists, engineers and fabricators, the 1969 RCR
Series 3 Camaro embodies the finest in RCR excellence.
It perfectly translates RCR’s knowledge from the racetrack
to the blacktop. And if you notice a sleek similarity to the one
and only No. 3 car, it is no coincidence. From the custom
“RCR Black” paint, to the actual race car pedal assembly,
to the gear shift knob, the legendary inspiration runs deep
through this project. So much so, in fact, that the RCR
Series 3 Camaro includes two engines, one of which is an
SB2 RCR powerhouse race engine built and tuned by the
renowned RCR engine shop especially for this project-the
same type of engine the original No. 3 had in it when it ran
the Daytona 500 in 2000. With only 50 Series 3 Camaros
made, you will not be able to get this motor in any other
Camaro in the world.

THE OPPORTUNITY
One car. Two engines. One street legal. One not so much,
unless that street goes around in a circle and allows traffic
upwards of 190MPH. The 1969 RCR Series 3 Camaro is
a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a piece of racing
history. The first model serial No. 3 -named “The Intimidator”-
recently sold at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Arizona for
$575,000. That car came equipped with the actual engine
block and components that powered Dale Earnhardt and
the No. 3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevrolet MonteCarlo in the 2000 Daytona 500. The remaining 49 will be
built through 2010 and offered to special buyers like you
with a unique appreciation for the finer-and faster-things in
life. Like legends in racing, certain opportunities only come
around once in a lifetime. With this one, the only choice
you’ll have to make is do you want it set up for the track or the street? The choice is yours!
